Abstract

A grenade incorporates a pyrotechnic chain which presents a double interruption during storage and transport. The first, standard, interruption comprises maintaining a distance between the detonator and the detonation relay considerably greater than that which would permit the transmission of the detonation between these two elements. The second interruption of the pyrotechnic chain is constituted by a material obstacle interposed between the detonator and the detonation relay. It prevents the transmission of the detonation between these two elements when the distance becomes smaller than that which permits the transmission of the detonation. Such a double interruption of the pyrotechnic chain is partic. desirable for transport by air or by sea.
