Abstract
Cette jauge pour réservoir comprend essentiellement un fil ferromagnétique 24 tendu entre le fond et le sommet du réservoir, un dispositif électronique 38 qui engendre à une extrémité du fil une impulsion ultrasonore, notamment de torsion, qui se propage sur toute la longueur du fil : des aimants 26 et 28 formant les références du fond et du sommet du réservoir et un troisième aimant 36 porté par un flotteur 34, l'impulsion ultrasonore interagissant avec les aimants en produisant dans le fil trois impulsions électriques successives, le dispositif électronique 38 comprenant également un détecteur, une horloge et un compteur donnant à sa sortie des mesures numériques des temps de propagation entre l'aimant 26 et l'aimant 28 et ainsi qu'entre l'aimant 36 et l'aimant 28. Le rapport des deux temps, indépendant de la vitesse de propagation, donne le rapport de la hauteur du volume du liquide à la hauteur du réservoir, d'où se déduit le niveau du liquide. Application aux réservoirs de grandes dimensions.
