Abstract
The alcohol is recovered from the liquid issuing from the column-exchanger for cooling the gas and also from the water used for washing the cooled gas. The gas inlet temp. to the drier pref. must not exceed 390-560 degrees C depending on the alcohol content. The intermediate exchanger cooling pref. enables an aq. alcohol which is easy to concentrate. Cf. the conduction drying of the parent patent, the method is cheaper and avoids the need for preparing the marcs.
