Abstract
The heat exchanger used for thermo-electric systems, has thermocouples fitted between hot and cold end walls. The system can use thermocouples transferring heat in the current flow direction and alternatively thermo-couples which transfer heat opposite the current flow direction. Each heat exchanging surface is formed by a homogeneous and integral bar (8). The cylindrical bars may have circular or elliptical cross section. The bars are joined to the end plates (4) by a crimped connection or by rivetting or by a combination of the two methods. Alternatively welding or hard brazing can be used for fastening. The thermocouples are powered with direct current for maintaining temperature difference between end plates. Heat exchanging surfaces are readily cleaned and no condensing water is held by capillary action.
