Abstract

Hydroisomerisation of specified gasoline fraction is carried out a 320-400 degrees C and 20-60 atm. with a space velocity of 1.0-1.5 hr-1 using a catalyst comprising an amorphous Ni aluminosilicate and a NiCaHY zeolite in a wt. ratio of 60-90:40-10. The catalyst contains 7-10 wt.% Ni, 5-6 wt.% Al2O3, 80-86 wt.% SiO2, 1-2 wt.% Ca and 1-2 wt.% H. Specifically, the feed is a straight-run gasoline fraction boiling in the 85-160 degrees C or 160-195 degrees C range or a coker gasoline fraction boiling in the 35-85 degrees C or 43-170 degrees C range (N.B., the used of 35-85 degrees C coker gasoline is not claimed). The process gives high-octane products (MON clear 87-90) useful as motor fuel blending stocks, from low-octane feeds under mild conditions. The catalyst has high activity and stability.
