Abstract

Flame propagation in the event of a fire is prevented in places using textile webs such as curtains, awnings and the like by providing the upper part of the web with a strip of a low melting material, pref. a textile (woven) material or a plastic film. The stip may be attached to the web by sewing, welding, with hooks or it may eb fitted to the web in the course of prodn. In the event of fire the strip melts and the web does on the floor thus preventing flame propagation.
