Abstract

The invention relates to electrochemical cells or accumulators. An electrochemical energy source comprises dense, homogeneous polycrystalline lithium nitride, conductor of lithium ions, constituting a solid electrolyte ensuring the separation between a lithium anode and a cathode made of an electrochemically active material. Said solid electrolyte is in close contact with a non-aqueous solvent containing a soluble lithium salt forming a composition acting as a liquid electrolyte conductive of lithium ions. By this design, the formation of lithium dendrites on the anode is in particular avoided.
