Abstract

La présente invention concerne la fabrication d'une ébauche ou préforme permettant par simple étirage la production de fibres optiques destinées à la transmission de signaux lumineux. Le procédé de l'invention consiste après avoir déposé par tout procédé connu en son une suie de silice pure sur un barreau en silice pure, à fritter et enfin à diffuser dans ledit barreau un composé gazeux du fluor. Application à la fabrication de préforme en silicates alcalins de bore et d'aluminium ainsi que de préformes constituées de mélanges d'oxyde de germanium et de silice et même d'oxydes de germanium pur.
