Abstract

The air cushion support system is added to an agricultural tractor to lessen its weight on the tyres when the ground is very soft. On each side of the tractor is a two support pad which has a rigid platform of right angled triangle shape. The pads are held parallel to the ground by pivoted arms. Each pad can be adjusted by hydraulic rams to the position required. The pads themselves are supported by an air cushion, fed by vertical shaft fans. There is a skirt around each pad.
