Abstract

L'invention a pour objet un procédé de formage de tissus en fibres hautement absorbantes et tissus obtenus par le procédé. Le procédé comprend les opérations suivantes : formation d'un gel en mélangeant des fibres de cellulose chimiquement modifiées avec un solvant, les fibres étant constituées, soit par de la cellulose qui a été soumise à une substitution chimique, éthérisation ou estérification, éventuellement à chaînes croisées, soit par de la cellulose qui a été greffée de façon polymérique, extrait du solvant encore libre du mélange de gel dans une proportion telle qu'il reste une quantité comprise entre + et - grammes par gramme de fibre du point de saturation de fibre, pulvérisation du mélange de gel pour séparer les fibres, rassemblement de ces dernières lorsqu'elles sont pulvérisées de façon à obtenir un tissu ayant une grande proportion d'orientation des fibres dans le sens << Z >>, et finalement séchage des fibres. Application : couches jetables, serviettes hygiéniques, tampons, torchons, éponges chirurgicales.
