Abstract

Glass articles such as goblets are formed by pressing a parison in a mould so as to obtain a vertical wall; placing the moulded parison on a support rotatable about its axis; and shaping the wall between a shaped wheel and a shaped mandrel located on either side of the wall, having complementary profiles. Reentered, bulging and open mouthed shapes can be made more readily on a prodn. line esp. using a pocket mould rather than a dismantling mould as in prior art.
