Abstract

The safety system is for a vehicle with an automatic transmission, having signal responsive controls for the parking brake and neutral condition of the transmission. The signal generator is actuated when the driver leaves his seat and when the system is not correctly set. A delay element controls operation of a braking mechanism. The signalling device pref. consists of an audible alarm. The controls for the parking brake and transmission can include a relay, a switch being operated in response to the driver taking and leaving his seat.
