Abstract

The flange coupling is for connecting a pipe and comprises a flange fitted to the end of the pipe and a loose ring flange located on the fixed unit to fix and seal the pipe union. The fixed flange (5) comprises a pipe piece (6) welded on to the pipe (7) and of the same material as it. On the fixed flange pipe piece a flange section (5) is formed at right angles to the pipe axis, and between the loose ring flange (9) and the fixed flange section (5) a pressure ring (8) is fitted. To manufacture the coupling, the fixed flange section is produced from the same material as the pipe conduit, and is a ring flange unit from which a pipe piece is pressed for welding to the pipe proper. As press mould a pressure ring is used which remains on the pressed piece, and ultimately serves to locate the loose flange ring.
