Abstract

A solar energy collector has a flat absorber comprising two metal plates connected to one another and having shallow cavities. It allows radiation to be caught in normal climatic conditions, i.e. when the direct radiation is not perpendicular to the plane of the collector. When the sun is hidden and only diffused radiation exists, this is absorbed, and when the sum appears intermittently it profits from any fine interval and attains its operating threshold as quickly as possible. It has low thermal inertia and the plate exposed to the sun, coloured black, absorbs the major part of the radiation arriving at an inclined angle, and does not reflect.
