Abstract

L'invention concerne une composition polymère d'halogénure de vinyle susceptible d'être moulée en un article résistant aux chocs et qui comprend un mélange d'un polymère d'halogénure de vinyle où la proportion dominante des unités monomères est constituée de résidus monomères d'halogénure de vinyle et d'un modificateur d'impact polymère pour halogénure de polyvinyle choisi parmi le groupe constitué 1 d'un polymère où la proportion dominante des unités monomères est constituée de résidus de méthacrylate de méthyle, de 1,3-butadiène et de styrène et qui a environ le même indice de réfraction que ledit polymère d'halogénure de vinyle et 2 d'un polymère ABS. Cette composition est caractérisée en ce que le mélange comprend également un élastomère thermoplastique séquencé où la proportion dominante des unités monomères est constituée de résidus d'un composé arène monoalcényl-substitué de la série du benzène ou du naphtalène ayant de 8 à 20 atomes de carbone et d'un hydrocarbure alcadiénique conjugué ayant de 4 à 10 atomes de carbone, ledit élastomere séquencé étant normalement incompatible avec ledit polymère d'halogénure de vinyle, ledit polymère d'halogénure de vinyle étant présent en proportion dominante dans ledit mélange, et ledit modificateur d'impact polymère et ledit élastomère séquencé ensemble étant présents dans une proportion accessoire dans ledit mélange, à la condition que lorsque le modificateur d'impact polymère est ledit polymère de méthacrylate de méthyle-1,3-butadiène-styrène, le rapport pondéral de l'élastomère séquencé audit modificateur est d'environ 5 : 1 à environ 1 : 5. This composition is characterized in that the mixture also comprises a block thermoplastic elastomer where the dominant proportion of the monomer units consists of residues of a monoalkenyl-substituted arene compound of the benzene or naphthalene series having 8 to 20 carbon atoms. and a conjugated alkadienic hydrocarbon having 4 to 10 carbon atoms, said block elastomer normally being incompatible with said vinyl halide polymer, said vinyl halide polymer being present in a major proportion in said mixture, and said modifier polymer impact modifier and said block elastomer together being present in an incidental proportion in said blend, provided that when the polymer impact modifier is said polymer of methyl-1,3-butadiene-styrene methacrylate, the weight ratio of the elastomer sequenced to said modifier is from about 5: 1 to about 1: 5.
