Abstract

The wig or hair piece is made partly from a ventilated base such as net or muslin, and partly from a cap made of an elastomer to imitate the scalp. The cap covers the smallest area possible and is only used where especially required, as at partings. The ventilated base is joined to the cap by either sandwiching its edge between two layers of the cap or by moulding the edge into the cap. The hairs are implanted individually in the cap and are knotted on to the ventilated base.
