Abstract

The photoelectric switching control is used for electric light bulbs. The photoelectric cell and its associated switching circuit is housed in a combination plug (6), and socket connector (8) fitted between the normal lighting socket and the bulb. The connector consists of an inner (2) and outer annulus (1) bridged by a triangular cross-section (11) fitted cover (3). The inner surface of the outer annulus is deeply serrated (13) ensuring a 150 deg. field for the photo-electron cell (4) ensuring proper day/night operation. The photo-cell is carried beneath an opaque circuit board (7) with its associated triac control circuit to avoid illumination by the lamp.
