Abstract

The joint may be cruciform in plan, two coplanar legs being formed by a contiguous through slab (8) with windows for reinforcement (3') projecting from the end of a perpendicular slab (1'). The second slab (1) tapers out symmetrically at the end to form a fork with two parallel legs (4), the latter forming continuous walls which house the projecting reinforcing bars and constitute permanent shutters for jointing concrete (J). The horizontal reinforcing bars (3) of the slab may project into the fork to prove a suitable continuity lap, and permanent or demountable seals (7) may be used on the fork end faces.
