Abstract

For use on automobile door locks with pivoting forked plate bolts, the staple (4) is a 'U' section plate with a perpendicular bar (15) bracing the leg ends apart, and fixed to a door pillar. The bar is engaged by the forked bolt at door closure, and may be of a uniform round hollow section to accommodate one of the two screws which fix the staple to the pillar. Both screws may pass through the two staple flanges (14a, 14b) which is longer than its counterpart (14a).
