Abstract

A filter for aquaria is contained in a vertical float casing in which the crude water flows radially inward. The float casing consists of an outer tube with an overflow rim over which the crude water flows in an outer annulus. After passing radially through the filter, the clean water leaves through the open bottom of the filter support structure. The float casing is guided between two bulkheads in the aquarium, one with a slot at the bottom and the other fixed to the bottom and with a guide for the float casing well below water level.
