Abstract

Compsn. for use in recovery of tartaric acid from residual liquors from wine distillation comprises a mixt. of calcium monosulphate and carbonate. Pref. 60% of monosulphate and 40% of carbonate are used. The monosulphate is pref. the residue from HF prodn. by degradation of spar with H2SO4. The carbonate is pref. pure limestone. The recovery is of low cost.
