Abstract

The remote controlled bath outlet plug utilises a lever mounted valve (2b) which moves between open and closed positions and relative to a seat in a valve housing (1), and utilises a supple membrane to effect a water tight seal. The valve is mounted below the plug hole, and the membrane interposes the valve and the seat to form the floor of an outfall, chamber when the valve is open. An annular screw may be used to fix the periphery of the membrane to the casing whilst permitting valve movement. Remote control may be effected by a draw cable attached to the valve remote end of a rocking lever which is mounted on the casing. The cable passes outside the wall (7) of the bath to anchor on a winding drum associated with a rotatable actuating knob.
