Abstract

The roof is constructed of slabs of preformed insulating material. They have a standard width and can be cut to length to suit the building being covered. Their longitudinal edges are lipped so that adjacent slabs can be joined together to make a weatherproof joint. The slabs have stepped ridges running along their length. A metal sheet is put across them to run across the top of the ridges. This leaves a closed space between the metal sheet and the base of the slab. A solar collector fits in to this space. The ridges can have grooves to facilitate the attachment of the metal sheets.
