Abstract

A lock is provided for the drum of a linen dryer and consists of a pinion formed integrally with the drum and a bolt which slides in the drum housing. The teeth of the pinion are formed parallel to the axis of the drum on which at least one cord winds, and the bolt similarly slides parallel to the same axis. The cord or cords can be unwound for attachment by the free end at a suitable point and the drum mounting as well as the locking arrangement are sufficiently robust to support the full weight of the items to be dried.
