Abstract

The tank or container is supplied with a flexible membrane fixed to the sides in such a way as to divide the volume into two parts. The two volumes may vary according to the position of the membrane. The membrane is sealed to the sides of the container and fixed permanently in position. The volume may further be subdivided by other membranes to give smaller volumes. The membrane may be displaced by means of external pressure being applied.
