Abstract

Process comprises pulling the materials through a feed path by means of interengaging and rotation of counter-rotating feed wheels mounted in spaced positions along each of a pair of parallel shafts, shredding at least in part by linearly disposed shredding wheels positioned between the wheels to engage the materials at an angle to the feed path through the wheels, and selecting relative to the feed path of the materials the angle of the shredding members as a function of the texture of particular materials passed through. Two diverse materials are fed into the feed path in predetermined proportions. One of the two materials is rubber tyres intermittently fed into the feed path. Two diverse materials comprising damp waste and tyre carcasses are pref. used.
