Abstract

Procédé pour éliminer l'acide p-toluique et éventuellement d'autres acides carboxyliques aromatiques dans l'aldéhydo-téréphtalate de méthyle ou des mélanges le contenant. On traite le produit brut fondu ou dissous dans un solvant organique avec un agent basique, ce qui forme les sels des acides, après quoi on sépare l'aldéhydo-téréphtalate de méthyle ou le melange contenant de l'aldéhydo-téréphtalate de méthyle d'avec les substances solides et on le débarrasse ensuite éventuellement du solvant. Les esters méthyliques, (ou les mélanges contenant de tels esters) d'acide aldéhydo-téréphtalique sont des produits chimiques intermédiaires précieux pour la fabrication par exemple de monomères pour produits de polycondensation, médicaments et de colorants
