Abstract

An endless belt conveyor (2) is contained in a sealed enclosure. The belt carries transversely scrapers (10) fitted with wear resistant edges (14) which rub over the lower surface of the enclosure. At the end of the enclosure adjacent the inlet (18) is a part cylindrical wall (23) connected tangentially to the lower plane surface. Wall (23) is coaxial with the drum (26) over which the belt passes and its radius is such that the scrapers rub over it so as to keep it clean and return product carried round by the conveyor back to the inlet.
