Abstract

The core mould (9) is utilised in the mfr. of reinforced concrete over-ground burial vaults, and has a recess-contoured side (A) and end forms, obtg. a light open topped rectangular box. The unit is cast upside down, the mould having edge flanges (b) forming plane top horizontal surfaces to the walls. The roof slab (e) has parallel jointing faces to obtain perfectly sealed joints between cover and box, the joints being made by bolts to encastre' ferrules (c) and inc. compression seals. A covered access opening is provided and may be sited over a well (v) defined by a porous cross-wall (u). The cross-wall may be replaced by an impermeable panel during testing for leaks.
