Abstract

The dampening system for the lock mechanism of a knitter has a curved dampening unit with a surface oriented against the direction of movement of the stitch-forming components. The centre of the curved section lies on the side of the needle bed and above the contact point where the stitch-forming components strike this surface. The design increases the useful life of the stitch-forming components of the knitting lock mechanism.
