Abstract

The car engine casing and cooling unit has a frame (1) defining an opening for a fan (10). The frame also defines coolant reservoir and is a single piece moulding. The fan shroud pref. consists of two different disc rings (2a, 2b) joined by a frustoconical collar (2c). The fan is supported by a radial arms, these carrying a fan drive motor mounting (5) at their inner ends. The mounting is pref. constitutes one of the motor end plates, and can be constructed as a stepped up which seats one of the motor bearings.
