Abstract

One end of the hydraulic jack has a block (4) with a fixing eye (5). The block contains a ball valve (6, 7) acting against the spring (8). The serve piston (9) is actuated by hydraulic fluid from the pipes (10, 11). The opposite end of the jack has a seal (12) adjacent to the fluid connection (14), joined to the fluid inlet by the pipe (16). A bleed valve (17) is fitted in the line. When fluid pressure is cut off, the valve (6) closes and locks the piston. Fluid pressure behind the piston (9) opens the valve.
