Abstract

The record player has a housing with an insertion slot for a disc casing which is guided along a path inside the housing. The record disc is rotatably held and centered on a turntable, when it has been removed from its casing after its complete insertion. The record disc remains in the housing after its extraction. A platform is movably mounted in the housing and can assume hoisted and a pressed-down position, carrying the record disc in its hoisted position, while transferring the same onto the turntable in its pressed-down position. A playback signal pick-up on a support is guided in the housing along a second path, parallel to the insertion path of the record casing.
