Abstract

The floodlighting equipment is for a public exhibition etc., having semitransparent screens moved one at a time into the path of the rays. This is done by pneumatic rams (5a, 5b, 5c), each actuating one screen (3a, 3b, 3c) and connected to a source of gas under pressure via a solenoid valve (6a). The return stroke of each ram, when moving the screen out of the path of the rays (2), is slower than the forward stroke. The rams can be single acting with return springs, there being a restrictr between each ram pressure chamber and the outlet to keep the return stroke slower.
