Abstract

A transfer device between work stations comprises a belt having pile fibres on its outer surface, tensioned between two rollers one of which is driven. The belt is intended for the transfer of textile pieces, such as garment cut-outs from a conveyor belt to a work station, or to store, the pile fibres being used to lift off the out-outs from the conveyor, as they pass over a roller. Previous lifting devices, such as gripper organs using needles or suction cups, are not satisfactory, esp. with smooth goods, such as knitted fabrics. The removal device of the invention separates the pieces from the conveyor effectively, allowing their transfer to a work station or to store. It may handle any sort of fabric.
