Abstract

The structural frame has columns supporting transverse roof frames of a repeating double cantilever construction. Each double cantilever element is of a shallow rhomboidal form symmetrical about horizontal and vertical axies, being built up from twin braced triangular modules connected by the short vertical diagonal of the composite element. Columns are positioned under the diagonals with sheeting rails suspended from the outer free ends, the adjacent inner free ends being connected in a manner accommodating roof drainage gutters. The top booms may locate longitudinal purlins and cladding, the bottom booms receiving a suspended ceiling. Longitudinal stability may be provided by a uniformly deep lattice girders fraiming into the vertical diagonals.
