Abstract
L'invention concerne la métallurgie Le procédé faisant l'objet de l'invention est caractérisé en ce que les ceintures de refroidissement 3, 6, 7, 8 sont mises successivement hors d'action, en commençant par la ceinture supérieure 3, au fur et à mesure que le pied du lingot 2 arrive au niveau de chacune des ceintures de re roidissement suivantes au cours de son déplacement de haut en bas, et que jusqu'à l'achèvement du processus de coulée du lingot on fait arriver le fluide de refroidissement par celle des ceintures de refroidissement qui permet à la frontière liquide-solide sur la surface latérale du lingot d'être maintenue sensiblement à mi-hauteur de l'inducteur 4. L'invention s'applique notamment à l'élaboration de lingots, notamment de 500 à 1 100 mm de diamètre, en alliages caractérisés par de faibles vitesses de solidification.
