Abstract
A load bearing substructural frame and cladding panels, both of prefabricated standard components, are the primary elements of the building system. The frame provides vertical walled hexagonal plan modules each receiving a roof structure of three inclined plane surfaces. Each module may be derived from a regular dodecahedron, the roof cavities between modules being covered by the standard convex tri-planar form. Frame members may coincide with the arrisses of the dodecahedron, comprising inclined beams and vertical posts connected to node pieces. The nodes may have a hexagonal horizontal section with a vertical dove-tail section groove on each face, being fixed axially to the heads of the posts to receive dovetail section tongues welded to the beam ends.
