Abstract

In a system for the rapid charging of gastight nikel-cadmium accumulators, the charging current is cut off as soon as the preset charged stage has been reached. To determine the charged state, the chargin voltage is meausred and the cut-off operation is initiated when the charging voltage curve has reached its minimum. This achieves with very simple means a highly accurate method of cutting off the charging current just before the battery becomes overcharged.
