Abstract

The locking mechanism is designed for use on a moulded case miniature circuit breaker. An independent locking element (18) is designed to be fixed to the operating handle. The locking element (18) has a U shaped body (20) between the branches (26) is pivoted a locking lever (24). A slot (28) is cut in the branches (26) of the U-shaped piece (20) and a part of the operating handle (16) is located in the slot (28). The inclination of the slot (28) corresponds to the position of the operating handle (16) in an extreme position. One of the slot sides (32) has one or several projections (30) which dig into plastic material of the handle. The other edge (34) is pressed against a part (36) in the form of a cam on the locking lever (24).
