Abstract

The trailer or semi-trailer takes up a high position for travel and a low one when at rest. It has raising and lowering mechanism, mounted on the axle. A pivoting balance weigth cuts between the axle and the chassis. A control arm is pivoted to the balance weigth at one end. At its other end, the arm has a roller running in a guide rail under the action of a double acting ram which determines the amount of tilting of the balance weight to raise and lower the vehicle chassis.
