Abstract

The staple incorporates a variable number of shims(45) allowing adjustment perpendicular to the major door plane, being mounted on a door-frame post(21). An angle iron mounting plate(15) is set flush in the post angle to provide support for a staple(16) of an assymetric angle iron form, the shim being inserted between the plate and the staple. The plate may be fixed by screws through holes(22) in the edge flange(17), the flange(18) in the major door plane locating projecting captive nuts(40). The nuts may have tapered heads(41) countersunk(29A) in the plate, or may have cylindrical heads set in blind post holes, and receive bolts(14) fixing the staple. The nuts may also have a horizontally elongated section with opposed horizontal flats and located by slots(36, 45A) to prevent their rotation.
