Abstract

The optoelectronic musical instrument uses music which is recorded on a transparent moving film in a way similar to conventional music. Rectangular marks on the moving film have length indicating the duration of the note, constant width and lateral position indicating the pitch of the note. The film passes over a guide plate which includes a curser to enable the marks to be correctly applied. A reading head includes photosensors on one side of the film, and a light source on the other side.
