Abstract

The platform holds metallurgical samples for polishing begore examination. A metal sample (1) is held in a cover (2) of plastic material, appearing at the larger end (3) of the truncated cone shape of the cover (2). A rib (4) is formed along the length of a generator of the cone. A reference mark (5) is also formed on the face (6) of the cone. The platform is a disc with holes at 60 degrees to each other, having a truncated cone form to receive the sample carriers. Slots correspond to the positions of the ribs (4). The platform then holds samples ready for polishing on the exposed surface.
