Abstract

Machine is described in the parent patent for brushing the surface of a cloth and winding the brushed cloth on to a spool to form a removable coil of cloth. In partic. the cloth is one used in an industrial bakery to support and separate bread dough lumps during the proving stage. The machine has a motor-driven spooling cylinder which draws the cloth over the surface of a bristled mat. The brushing surface of the mat is pref. in a plane tangential to the cylinder. Improvement is that the machine is fitted with a mechanical attachment to hold the leading edge of the cloth against the circumference of the cylinder when starting to wind the cloth on to the cylinder. The attachment pref. comprises a pressure roller freely rotatable on an axis. parallel to that of the cylinder. Arrangement eliminates the need for special dexterity previously required to start cloth winding on to spool cylinder. Machine output is increased by improved speed of starting spooling.
