Abstract

The rocker arm (1) is mounted onto a spindle with a hollow centre (3), the oil being supplied to the bore under pressure. The spindle has a number of holes (4) for the supply of oil to the outside of the spindle. Oil from the spindle runs down the rocker arm to lubricate the lower end (6). The hole (10) is drilled through the arm nd plugged with a porous plug (11). Oil from the plug travels along the arm to lubricate the upper end tappet (8) via the path (12).
