Abstract

The needle or roller bearing assembly is made up onto a shaft (1) having an extension (1a) for the bearing. The rollers (7) run on the extension and are located by the outer race (4) and a keeper plater (8) fitted to the end of the rollers. The rollers are located inboard by the inner face (1b) of the shaft. The keeer plate is held by the ring (6) located in the groove (9) at the end of the shaft. Alternative fixing methods may be used with inner retainer plates and oil sealing rings.
