Abstract

The automatic pilot for sailing craft utilises a vertical blade in wind direction. When craft sails out of wind direction on a signal is transmitted to steering rudder immersed behind the craft. A vertical blade (1) whose axis (3) follows wind direction provides a control signal to vertical shaft (5) which is transmitted (6) through an angle to horizontal shaft (7) to point of reception (9). To prevent over control a pendulum is activated around a horizontal axis (10) and above the vertical control axis (11) of the rudder. Two rubber cones (2, 8) dampen mechanical reactions to rudder in water.
