Abstract

Footlights for the theatre are made by using a flexible transparent plastic tube (2) which has a circular bore (4) and a rectangular external cross-section. Electric light bulbs are fixed at intervals along the bore of the tube (4) and are connected to wires (6) embodied in the tube wall. The luminous tube (2) which is thus formed is then fitted into a recess (7) in a panel (1). The recess (7) may form the perimeter of a rectangle or circle according to the lighting effect desired. Alternatively the tube (2) may be fitted on the edges of panels.
