Abstract

A sample of effervescent metal is extracted from a bath by plunging a tubular envelope of dehydrated cardboard into the molten metal. The envelope has a packet with a mould at one end which is extended by a chamber with a cross-section which permits correct filling of the chamber. Opposite to the chamber is a tube extending to the exterior to allow the mould to fill without cavities forming in the sample.
